Temporary insurance
My buddy has finally got his own car finally. He seems to be zooming around town and really enjoying himself these days. After the initial euphoria, he asked me if I wanted to take the car out for a spin. I realized that the first thing which I will need is a temporary insurance so that I am adequately insured in case something unavoidable does happen. Shopping for insurance can be such a headache at time. At other times, getting out of the house and doing the actual premium comparisons itself is really tedious and really time consuming. On the other hand, a really good insurance portal provides convenience and ease never heard of before. It is a real time saver and provides never heard convenience heard before. It is so easy to hunt around for the best rates right from home. I discovered an excellent site which is very user friendly and gives the shoppers a gets your vehicle the best protection for a short duration of time and does not leave your wallet any lighter. They have an excellent policy of making sure that your safety is their number one concern and they have experts who never compromise the quality of their work.
How money wise are you?
Money is one thing which is extremely difficult to earn and it is one of the first things to disappear in most situations. It is a bit difficult at times to slot oneself into one particular category, since our tendencies to be either a saver or spender changes every so often over a period of time. Looking at my spending pattern over the last decade or so, I guess I would probably categorize myself as saver rather than a spender since I usually the term spender usually connotes using money to buy things all the time that are not really needed in order to lead a normal life decently.
There were times when I had to spend my hard earned money on a lot of different items during a short time frame. However, this spending activity when it can be classified as an investment either in purchasing/renovating a property or putting money into a business venture does not cancel out the category which I have slotted myself into. These activities I consider an investment where I expect to earn much more than what I have invested in return. Other times, it is for absolutely necessary items like a new fridge (yes it does have a door handle minus dirty smudge marks Danni…lol), an air conditioner (another harsh summer is upon us), a new car – Tata Nano (my old beat up car is just not worth the trouble anymore), few more ceiling fans, etc.
I learned the hard way that having money in times of need and emergency are important because we will never know what will happen next. One should save a certain percentage of your monthly earning and invest it in some safe investment avenue like government bonds, etc so that in case of an emergency I have something to fall back on. Especially in the times of recession it is more important to have decent amount of money stashed away. Not many people will come forward to help you out financially even if they belong in the extended family.
Being a responsible adult, a person should know what to buy and when not to buy. One must learn to purchase only those that are a necessity in life and these habits should be ingrained into the child’s thinking early in life. Never have "live for today, we'll think about tomorrow when tomorrow comes" attitude in life. This will lead to disastrous results. Give it a thought and in the end try to answer the following questions honestly: Will you consider yourself a saver or spender? Which category do you fit in? In which thing do you spend money the most money or where do you manage to save money most?

As we grow older, we realize that money gives us a great feeling. This feeling is fantastic and it gives a person a sense of freedom which nothing else gives. A visit to the vet
A few days back, a friend of mine had gone to take his pet dog to the clinic for a few shots. Later on, on the way inside to the clinic, he had run across a huge billboard which mentioned that something to the effect that their will be a luxury clinic opening up for pets. Imagine that. Isn’t this a site to see? I laughed so hard when I heard this news. When my laughter had died down and I was back in control of my senses, I asked him exactly what had happened at the clinic. He told me that the pets will be given VIP treatment, and a lot of facilities will be provided to them that usually are not available at your regular neighbourhood pet clinics like an operation theatre, ICU, OPD and many other things to pamper your loved one. The pet will be treated like a king. The vet had looked at my buddy and said in a stern voice “Seems like you have never give your dog a proper bath and a hair cut. We will make him smell and look good real quick.” He was told that it will ONLY cost Rs 600. The guilt factor kicked in and the dog was handed over for its beauty treatment. The poor thing did not know what it was about to get into. First of, it was given a set of injections. It was whisked off into another room where it was given a hair cut and then a bath. This confused little dog didn’t know what was happening to it, but seemed to enjoy it. The vet helpers finally released him after 1 hour and 15 minutes. What was once a furry looking well fed dog was now looking like a starving, malnourished stray dog which had been picked up while coming up to the clinic. He was quickly taken home with his newly acquired look. After hearing all this, I thought that it is truly amazing how lucky these pets have it nowadays. They can get pampered, treated like a royalty and get some time off from their owners. Some places are set up in such a way that an air-conditioned car picks up the pet, takes it to a 5 star place, where they get hair cut, bath, and manicure. Then they get to watch television or listen to radio while reclining in a soft comfortable cushion. They are fed freshly made delicacies All this is located inside a fully air-conditioned area. Plus they also have their own personal butler to take care of any needs that may arise.People who have pets are usually very attached to them and the owners want the best they can provide for their pets. The pets are like a loved family member. I guess it is only normal that the pet owner don’t look at their pets as animals, but as fellow human beings. So don’t feel shy about pampering your pets and let them have the time of their life.

Wedding invitations
The moment which you had been waiting for is finally here. The wedding day is just around the corner and you still have not decided who you will invite besides many other things. It is difficult to find the right things which you are looking for at the last moment and a generous amount of help is needed at times like this. One of my family members was in a similar situation and I was asked to help out. Just a few stray thoughts
When I was growing up, it seemed like I had a carefree life. No worries, tension or stress. There was hardly any pressure on anyone and people were more or less friendly towards each other. Times change and people change. Now a days it seems like no one has time for other people and no one wants to exit this rats race even though it seems to be causing so much stress, tension and all types of health and family problems. The most seriously affected is the family unit. Within the family unit, it is the kids which are the most severely affected. The kids start straying from the family, moral and religious values and parents don’t relies it until it too late. The right value system should be ingrained into the child at a young age and constantly reinforced while growing up. Even adults need positive reinforcement so that they are not tempted to stray from the right path especially in high stress troubled times.
Rediscovering the entertainment quotient
It was the weekend and I was totally bored. I surfed the television channels, browsed through newspapers/magazines, called up friends but nothing seemed to satisfy. So, I fired up the computer and logged in to the net and started surfing randomly and trying to find something which might catch my eye. I needed something different. That is when I stumbled upon webshow. This site deals with all types of topics under the sun. This awesome site totally knocked me out. It seems that the author of this blog is very passionate about the entertainment quotient and through his blog I have rediscovered my passion for entertainment like music and movies and many other things which I had simply forgotten all about. The articles are very well written and concise and are very entertaining to read. The articles were so well written that it seemed that I was right in the midst of the action itself. So if you are a Fred Figglehorn and would like news related to him, then this is a must visit site. You will certainly get your fix and you will certainly enjoy it a lot. It's too cold out there
I woke up this morning and looked out the window. Rubbed my eyes once and then rubbed them twice. Nothing much could be seen as the whole city was completely covered in a thick layer of fog. All I can see are a few people either walking or zipping past all bundled up in woollen clothing. The winter chill had set in sometime back and it seems like the dense fog will become a regular feature now. That is until the warm summer winds sweep into the state once more and cook us like lobsters in tub of water. For the last two days or so, we have had really dense fog which is leading to low visibility. Road, air and rail traffic has been the most severely affected leading to delay of many hours in some cases. This fog usually dissipates sometime in the afternoon and we are able to get a few precious hours of sunshine. As soon as the cold dry continental westerly sweeps our state, the weather will become bitterly cold. Luckily here in Lucknow we do not get any snow during winters. Sometimes we get winter rain. That’s about it.
I really like the winters here compared to the weather I had to live with when I was living in the Cleveland area. I never really got used to it. The cold bitter winds used to sweep down into the city from Lake Erie and used to freeze our butts off. Then it used to return a little while back and dump tons of snow upon the city. I distinctly remember clearing out the walk way and driveway and to my utter astonishment, used to see the same amount of snow back there shortly thereafter. It was just horrible in a sense that it was a never ending battle in which we always seemed to be at the losing end. The city did a good job on the roads I remember. The snow plow came by on a regular, swept and salted the streets. I guess the facilities in Solon were one of the better managed ones compared to some other sections of our state.
There are not many so called ‘good’ months here in our state. Our state is also known as the dust bowl of India. We also have extreme weather here ranging from cold to blistering hot weather. But, I guess I would not really trade it in for something else since there is such a wide variety of weather pattern that one never gets bored.

Secure your ID now
The internet is not a safe place especially when it comes to doing some sort of transaction. One has to be really sure of each and every move. There are not many safe solutions which will take care of all your needs without compromising your identity. One day it dawned on me that I should do something about availing some services to make my life more secure. Then one day, I discovered that a really fantastic service which might solve all my problems. Needing a little help
I need a little ‘puter help since I am mighty confused and I honestly am overwhelmed by all the choices out there. You see, it’s my computer which is making my life a bit rough for me at the moment and it keeps on bugging and harassing me by giving me these little messages that it is running out of space. I tried doing as much spring cleaning on my drive c: as possible but there is nothing to remove. So, the only two options left for me is either upgrade to a larger hard disk drive or repartition my existing one. Purchasing a new larger hard disk drive is out of the question at the moment since my laptop is only 1 ½ year old and I have an extended warranty on the whole thing except for the laptop battery. The only option left for me it seems is repartitioning my existing hard disk drive. So, the question arises….which software should I use? There are so many choices out there, so I need a little help. The information which I can provide to help you guys out is listed below:

O/S: Windows Vista
I have been eyeing the Norton Partition Magic software but am unsure if it can work with the Windows Vista. I was informed that Windows has its own partition utility, but I was not able to increase the size of drive c: for some reason. Yes, using it I was able to decrease the size of drive d:, but I was not able to successfully able to allocate the free space to drive c: for some reason. May be I did not do it correctly. Could someone help me out in this so that I can avoid purchasing repartitioning software? Otherwise, please suggest really good software which is easy on the wallet, safely repartitions the hard disk drive without losing any data and is easy to use. Thanks in advance for any/all help.

Every one of us has gone through many trials through life. Sometimes we have succeeded in overcoming our problems. At other times we end up throwing our hands up in the air and admitting defeat. Each one of us has been ingrained with a certain attitude and mind set when it comes to dealing with certain types of situations. Some tend to give up the moment they see an unmanageable problem looming ahead while others dig in and find an appropriate solution.
I really do believe that almost every person who actually gave up trying to solve difficult situations in life always ended up in failure in life. A person is truly a winner if he or she never gives up in life and chases down each dream he has cherished in order to make it come true one day. Or else he will always have at the back of his mind the thoughts that would not allow him to be at peace with himself and he would be regretting his decision of refusing to get back up, stand tall and face every certain challenge ahead of him in a bold and assertive manner!! People who have the never say die attitude and are able to maintain this attitude in their life usually end up doing better in life than others.
Give it a little thought and tell me: Do you agree that falling down is not defeat and that the person who refuses to get back up and try again is the one who has actually lost the battle? Have you ever tried doing something in life that you actually ended in giving up and not trying again to change what is not possible? Or have you slogged it out until you got yourself out of the mess?

It has become more or less a habit for me now considering the fact that the prices for the essential foods prices refuse to cool down even though for the first time in many years our economy is showing negative inflation. With the banks cutting fixed deposit interests there is no choice but to save money where ever possible.
When I was growing up, I was not really aware of the money saving concept. I picked up this habit later on when I started purchasing all types of items on my own and handling my own expenses. During the early years, the generic non branded food and non food item market was not as prevalent as it is today. That was the time in my life when we wouldn't even consider the idea of cutting corners on groceries. At that time, bargain hunting was mostly for clothes, appliances and cars. After a while when I started purchasing household items, I started buying a few generic products out of curiosity. Seeing that most of the time the quality was similar/same to the branded items, I became hooked to these money saving items. Now, I try to take advantage of the sales or special offers at the grocery store whenever they are held.
These days I always buy generic items whenever a choice is available and try to compare prices and ingredients in labels when buying products. Sometimes if I have surplus money either in my pocket or if I haven’t exhausted my credit card credit limit and there is some sort of sale going on in the store, I would buy up in bulk and then stock up for the whole month. I guess the main money saving idea which I discovered was making a list before heading out of the house. This way I knew before hand what purchases needed to be made and I didn’t end up buying items which I really did not need.
I prefer to cook meals especially from scratch and I try to only cook only what will be eaten during one sitting. But if it seems like I have leftovers, then I reuse them for another meal later on in the day. Sticking to my budget is extremely important so that the wastage is minimized and also so that I can create a proper meal later on when I am not in the mood to spend splurge money. I try to minimse my trips either to the office or for other purposes to a bare minimum whenever possible in order to save travelling expenses. The public transport system even though it is not one of the best does offer a bit of savings when compared to my gas guzzling old car. Car pooling is not so popular here as this concept has not caught people’s attention yet.

Do you wait for things to go on sale and then stock up on these sale items? How necessary is television in your house?
In our modern day and age, it is quiet common to find a wide variety of electronic item in every household. Out of all electronic gadgets available in the market these days, I think the television set is the most common electronic item seen in the house since it can be used for a wide variety of purposes. It seems like most people today would want a television in their home because it has become accepted as one of those items which they consider an absolute necessity. I really don't think it is, especially if one has a computer. Almost every year there is something new and soon people come to believe that they need it.
We do have a television set at home, but I don't really watch the programs and serials on the television very much. It might sound a bit strange, but it seems like it is just the thing that makes the home looks like a home. For instance, most of the houses have a couch, dinning table, study table and stuff like that to make the home more complete.
The other thing is it is one of the resources of the entertainment. Most of the shows shown might not be really good educational value, but we have the choices of what to watch and what not to. The people who have one are usually addicted to it and they simply cannot imagine a life without it. The people who don’t have one want to get one soon. First it is because sometimes they feel really feel bored at home and they simply have too much time on their hand. Secondly during our hot summer months when everyone is at the office and the kids are at the school, it is very quiet everywhere during the 10:00am to 4:00 pm time which usually drives these people up the wall sometimes.
Television is not one of those necessity items like food, clothing, water and shelter. You can get most of your news and entertainment stuff from various sources like the radio, net, newspapers, magazines, etc also if you prefer to stay updated to the latest info. For me, it is not much of a news medium but a form of entertainment and we like to watch movies. Sometimes we use it as a way to bring our family together and these movie sessions provide the perfect opportunity. In the busy, hectic and the daily grind, a little bit of entertainment with the family is really essential to make our life happy.
I guess I could live without television but not without my net connection. I would get really bored if it suddenly died on me for an extended period of time. I remember one time we had a power failure in our city due to high velocity winds and heavy rains for many hours and there was nothing we could do but sit there and wait for the electricity to come back. We do have emergency power back up which switches on automatically when the power goes out, but we only have it connected to the lights and the ceiling fans. It was like "what are we going to do now"? It was starting to get really boring until I logged into my laptop and started surfing the net. The time really flew by really fast. We do have a television set at home, but I don't really watch the programs and serials on the television very much. It might sound a bit strange, but it seems like it is just the thing that makes the home looks like a home. For instance, most of the houses have a couch, dinning table, study table and stuff like that to make the home more complete.
The other thing is it is one of the resources of the entertainment. Most of the shows shown might not be really good educational value, but we have the choices of what to watch and what not to. I suppose there are two types of friends when one things about it. I consider the fact that some people will come to you and befriend you or you just need to put yourself out there for people to see and make yourself available. Good friends are sometimes hard to find but when you find a special person then the friendship could last a life time. There is an unconditional type of feeling when you find the right person to share your time with.
One must realize that people at times come into other peoples life unannounced and leave in the same manner. Between these two points, some peoples relationship click and they become friend and have a blast of a time. Out of these friends, there are a few gems of relationships which like you said do last whole life time. It is extremely hard to find friends as it is and truly good ones next to impossible. One should hang on to the ones which we have and yet remember to give each friendship the elbow room to grow and flourish. A friendship is like a tree. Water it and add proper nourishment and it will give you life long protection. For a friendship to last, compatibility plays a big role in friendship.
